Established in 1982 through collaboration of the Federal Government of Nigeria and the International Labour Organisation (ILO) and executed by the then Ministry of Trade and Industry, the main aim of the School is to provide the much needed skills and development for the nascent hotel, catering and tourism industry.

The DG, Munzali Dantata Was a member of the working group on Vision 2020.
Alhaji Munzali Dantata is a lawyer by training, with a Master’s Degree (LL.M.) in International Finance Law. He began his career in law practice in 1981 until 1987 when he incorporated a travel agency and thus began his journey in the tourism industry.
